Job description

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Residential Program
Mesa, Arizona | Full-Time & Part-Time | Weekday and Weekend Shifts Available
We Grow Here
Solstead is a licensed residential treatment center providing short-term, therapeutic care for youth who need a safe place outside the home to heal and reset. Our 60-90 day program blends evidence-based clinical care with the grounding rhythms of farm life, giving young people room to build coping skills, strengthen relationships, and prepare for a successful return home.
We're a sister organization to LivWell Behavioral Health Services, and a brand-new program built from the ground up. Joining now means being part of shaping what this program becomes.
About the Role
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you'll be a steady, present part of residents' daily lives - running programming, supporting them through routines and outings, and helping create the kind of structure and connection that makes healing possible. This is hands-on, relationship-driven work in a 24/7 residential setting.
What You'll Do
  • Carry out daily program curriculum, including behavior coaching and life skills instruction
  • Facilitate structured groups and daily programming
  • Support and supervise residents during community outings and activities
  • Oversee medication administration in accordance with program protocols
  • Support cooking, daily living routines, and scheduled appointments
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and emotionally supportive environment at all times
  • Work as part of a small on-site team (minimum two staff on shift at all times)
Shifts Available
  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Evening Shift: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Overnight Shift: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
We're hiring for both weekday and weekend coverage. Schedules typically run:
  • Monday-Friday
  • Friday-Sunday
  • Mid-week (3-4 days)
Your specific shift and schedule pattern will be assigned based on availability and program needs.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children, teens, or individuals who benefit from additional behavioral or emotional support
  • Comfort working in a residential, 24/7 care environment
  • A calm, steady presence - able to stay grounded during stressful or emotionally intense moments
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliability and a genuine sense of accountability to residents and teammates
  • Openness to overseeing medication administration per program protocols
  • Active driver's license required
  • Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card required
Why Solstead
  • Be part of a small, mission-driven team from the ground up
  • Meaningful, relationship-centered work with real impact on kids' lives
  • A therapeutic environment that blends clinical care with nature-based, farm-life programming
  • Weekly involvement from a licensed therapist and medical director
  • Backed by the infrastructure and support of LivWell Behavioral Health Services

Pay: $22-$23/hour
Solstead is an equal opportunity employer.
