Job Description Position: Health & Safety Coordinator Industry: Automotive Tier 1 Manufacturing Location: KWC Area Shift: Days Position Type: Full-time, Permanent (Direct Hire) Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 Qualifications Required: College or University Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong understanding of industrial systems and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills Proven ability to take initiative, lead change, and effectively manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety/data management systems Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated history of professionalism, dependability, and teamwork Key Responsibilities: Promote and support a safe and healthy workplace culture while maintaining compliance with ISO 45001 standards Serve as a trusted safety resource for employees by addressing concerns, providing guidance, and helping identify and reduce workplace hazards Advocate for employee well-being and ensure safety issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner Participate actively in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of workplace safety culture Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to integrate safety into daily operations Support new equipment and program launches through workstation reviews, risk assessments, and pre-start health and safety evaluations Develop and deliver engaging health and safety training programs to promote safe work practices Maintain and update safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance and ease of understanding Manage the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) system and ensure all documentation remains accurate and current Assist with safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, including identifying root causes and tracking corrective actions Monitor, analyze, and report key safety metrics to support ongoing improvement initiatives Foster a positive behavior-based safety culture through coaching, employee engagement, and reinforcement of safe practices Support contractor safety management and ensure all contractors comply with on-site safety expectations Participate in layered process audits and continuous improvement activities Assist with additional health and safety projects and responsibilities as assigned
