Job description


About This Role

We are a licensed Before and After School Child Care Program for UPK through 5th grade in the Queensbury School District. We provide a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment for children and are looking for an energetic person willing to fill the position of Group Teacher in both our morning and afternoon sessions.

This position is part time 6:45am - 9:00/9:30am AND 2:30pm - 5:30pm (following the Queensbury School District calendar)


What You'll Do
  • Supervises the children through all activities in the classroom and outdoors on the playground. Work with other staff to develop age-appropriate crafts and activities.
  • Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
  • Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
  • Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  • Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
  • Maintains program room and equipment.
  • Maintains required program records.
  • Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and required trainings as per New York State OCFS School Aged Child Care Regulations.
  • Abides by all licensing regulations.
  • All other duties assigned by the School Aged Childcare Director.

Requirements
  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by the New York Office of Child and Family Services.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
