Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and professional Beer & Wine Bartender to join our team at the War Memorial. The Beer and Wine Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by preparing and serving beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar area while ensuring compliance with all alcohol service regulations. The ideal candidate is professional, team-oriented, and thrives in a high-volume setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to company standards
  • Provide friendly, attentive, and professional guest service at all times
  • Accurately process orders and payments through the POS system
  • Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws and regulations
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and promote responsible beverage service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area throughout service
  • Restock beer, wine, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies as needed
  • Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to support smooth operations
  • Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and side work duties
  • Report maintenance, inventory, or safety concerns to management promptly
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service practices
  • Valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required or ability to obtain
  • Food Handler Certification required
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25โ€“30 lbs
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
