DescriptionAs a Beer Ambassador, you are the welcoming face of Hardywood. You will provide an exceptional taproom experience for all guests while safely and responsibly serving our craft beer and food offerings. This role requires a blend of excellent customer service, operational efficiency, teamwork, and a genuine passion for craft beer. Hardywood Park Craft Brewery is an award-winning independent craft brewer driven by a passion for brewing with local ingredients, environmental sustainability, and deep community engagement. We are looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and hospitable individuals to join our Front of House (FOH) team and help us craft unforgettable experiences for our guests.ResponsibilitiesProvide quality pours of all draft beer and properly prepare additional beverage offerings to Hardywood's standards.Warmly welcome guests, answer questions regarding portfolio, and guide them to selections they will enjoy.Provide engaging and informative guided tours of our brewing facilities to customers when needed.Deliver attentive table service of prepared food and beer to guests in the taproom.Represent the Hardywood brand positively, embodying our core values of community, quality, and sustainability.Maintain inventory control, proactively restock beer and supplies, and manage the merchandise area to ensure it remains tidy and well-stocked.Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately, including handling cash, opening/closing tabs, and processing payments.Actively assist coworkers and the management team with waste cleanup, trash removal, and stocking event supplies.Show a willingness to cross-train and assist our kitchen team as needed at both our Ownby and West Creek facilities.Safely change kegs, manage the draft system during service, and troubleshoot basic draft issues.Perform comprehensive opening and closing duties, ensuring the bar, taproom, and patio areas are prepped for service and properly shut down.Strictly adhere to all alcohol service laws by checking proper forms of ID for all guests who appear to be 30 years of age or younger, and applying wristbands when necessary.Tactfully identify intoxicated guests and intervene appropriately. Assist with arranging safe rides home (via friends, family, or cab/rideshare).Clearly and promptly communicate with the Hardywood management team when dealing with uncooperative guests or escalating situations.Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe working environment in compliance with local health department standards. QualificationsPrior customer service, sales, or restaurant/hospitality service experience is preferred. Strong passion for craft beer is highly valued, and a Cicerone Certified Beer Server credential is a major plus.Comfortable learning and working within a digital Point of Sale (POS) system; ability to multi-task and work in an organized, fast-paced fashion.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with FOH and kitchen team members.A strong commitment to personal and guest safety.Availability to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays or major beer releases (dates will be provided during interviews). Must be comfortable working at both our Ownby Lane and West Creek facilities and willing to assist the kitchen team as needed.Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods (8+ hours per shift), lift 60 lbs. repeatedly, and safely move and place 160 lbs. kegs with proper equipment.
