What are some common challenges beef feeds sales reps face when building relationships with new clients?

Beef Feeds Sales Reps often encounter challenges such as establishing trust with ranchers and producers who may have long-standing relationships with other suppliers. Overcoming skepticism about new feed products and demonstrating their value requires strong product knowledge and communication skills. Additionally, understanding each client’s unique operation and providing tailored solutions is essential for long-term partnerships. Persistence, follow-up, and adaptability are crucial to successfully gaining new business in a competitive market.

To thrive as a Beef Feeds Sales Rep, you need a solid understanding of animal nutrition, sales techniques, and the beef industry, often supported by a degree in animal science or related field. Familiarity with CRM systems, feed formulation software, and industry-specific certifications like Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) are typically valuable. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help build lasting relationships with producers and industry stakeholders. These competencies are crucial for meeting sales targets, providing tailored solutions, and fostering trust with clients in a competitive agricultural market.

Job description

Outside Sales Representative (Project Manager)
Bert Black AC, Plumbing, Heating & Electrical | Central Arkansas
Warm leads. Uncapped commission. Zero door-knocking.
We put qualified homeowners in front of you. You walk in, listen, design the right solution, and close. That's the job. If you're a closer who's tired of chasing cold lists and grinding for your own leads, this is the seat you've been looking for.
Bert Black has served Central Arkansas homeowners for decades across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and generators. We're an established, growing shop running on ServiceTitan, with steady demand and a service team that feeds you real opportunities every day. We invest in the people who move the number, and we pay them for it.
What you'll do
  • Meet with homeowners on company-provided, pre-qualified appointments
  • Consult first: understand the problem, the home, and what the customer actually needs
  • Build a clear, needs-based estimate with good/better/best options that fit their budget
  • Present financing and walk customers through their choices with confidence
  • Close the deal on the spot and set the stage for a smooth handoff to our install team
  • Follow up on unsold opportunities and turn maybes into yeses
  • Keep your pipeline and notes clean in ServiceTitan so nothing slips
What you won't do
  • Cold call or knock doors for your own leads
  • Manage the install crews or job logistics. You sell it, we build it.
What you'll earn
This role is built to reward closers. You get a non-recoverable base you can count on, plus commission on everything you sell, with an accelerator once you clear your monthly production threshold. Sell more, make more. There's no cap.
  • Base: Onboarding Guarantee Draw (Non-Recoverable) 90 Days and Transition to Full Commission.
  • On-target earnings: $140,000, with top closers earning well beyond it.
  • Full benefits, paid time off, and company vehicle.
Where it goes
We promote from within. A rep who consistently closes clean, profitable deals is exactly who we look at first for Sales Manager and leadership seats. If you want a ceiling, this isn't the place. If you want a ladder, it is.
What you bring
  • A proven track record closing in-home or B2C sales (HVAC, home services, or big-ticket retail a plus)
  • Consultative instincts: you sell by listening, not by pushing
  • The discipline to run a full pipeline and follow up relentlessly
  • Comfort presenting price and financing without flinching
  • Coachable, competitive, and driven by the scoreboard
  • Comfortable in software (Service Titan experience is a plus, not a dealbreaker)
  • Valid driver's license and a clean record
Why Bert Black
You'll walk into an established brand with steady demand, warm leads handed to you daily, and a comp plan that pays you for results instead of hours. We move fast, we keep it simple, and we back the people who perform.
