Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an experienced Infection Control RN/Nurse Educator. Come join our Team for a challenging and rewarding career!

Position Summary: The Infection Control/Nurse Educator is a registered professional nurse who will facilitate orientation for all new staff, focusing on nurses in the classroom setting during the last half of orientation, teaching and assessing many competencies and passing new staff off to preceptors who will oversee the completion of the orientation competencies.  Assists with formulation and implementation of training in areas identified as requiring follow-up and/or refresher education including but not limited to multi-cultural awareness and a diversity sensitivity curriculum.  Evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices; addresses assessed needs with education programs when appropriate. Oversees HeathStreams online education/training, uploads required education monthly for staff to complete. Provides professional supervisions for Behavioral Health Techs (BHTs) and RNs with less than one year of psychiatric experience. 

This position is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. This position collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies.
