Electrical Service Technician

Indianapolis, IN (Some Travel Required – Midwest & North America)
$38–$45 per hour + Overtime, Travel Pay & Per Diem

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our growing service team. This is a field-based position focused on the installation, troubleshooting, and support of digital printing systems integrated with industrial corrugating machinery.

This role is ideal for an experienced PLC‑savvy electrical technician who enjoys autonomy, advanced troubleshooting, and working directly with customers in a fast‑paced industrial environment.


What You’ll Do
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and support digital print systems at customer sites
  • Perform electrical diagnostics, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and warranty service
  • Work with PLC-based control systems, drives, servos, and motion control
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and analyzer files
  • Start up and shut down equipment in compliance with OSHA and safety standards
  • Provide after-hours/on-call support as part of a rotating schedule
  • Communicate directly with customer personnel to identify issues and implement solutions
  • Complete clear and accurate service reports, time entries, and expense reports

Travel Requirements
  • Approximately 65% travel, primarily within North America
  • Most work will be onsite at first, then will transition into more traveling over the years
  • Travel varies by customer need (weekday travel is typical)
  • Technician is responsible for coordinating travel, with all expenses reimbursed per company policy

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Technical / trade school education, Associate’s degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics
  • Experience with PLC controls and industrial automation, including:
    • Beckhoff
    • Siemens S7 / TIA Portal (SCL)
    • Drives, servos, and motion control systems
  • Comfortable working independently in customer environments
  • Solid computer skills and ability to learn proprietary software
Preferred / Plus Experience
  • PLC programming or diagnostics (C/C++, Siemens, Beckhoff, MATLAB/Simulink)
  • Experience with corrugators, printing equipment, or high-speed machinery
  • Familiarity with E-Plan and Bosch Rexroth IndraWorks DS
  • Prior field service, maintenance engineer, or service technician background

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 30 lbs
  • Comfortable working on equipment, ladders, and stairs
  • Able to work in varying temperature conditions at customer sites
