In Apple Acoustics, we work with the utmost attention to detail, directly impacting the design of products that millions of people around the world love!..The Audio Technology team at Beats Electronics drives the design and integration of advanced audio features across the Beats product line. We share a passion for music, acoustics, and developing the highest quality sound systems. You'll often find us at the intersection of computational algorithms and physical acoustic systems. Our focus is active noise cancellation, adaptive EQ, spatial audio, and more. If this is up your alley, we want to hear from you!
As an Audio System Specialist with Beats Electronics, you will specify, develop, integrate, tune, and verify ANC performance on Beats headphone and earphone products. In this role, you will drive system design, modeling, and tuning of audio processing features in Apple products, specifically focusing on active noise cancellation. You will have an opportunity to work on development and analysis of both hardware and software components using a combination of acoustic and DSP skills. As part of the product development team, you will work independently as the main Acoustics point-of-contact for ANC performance; interact with Beats/Apple Engineering counterparts and supplier engineering teams to ensure performance targets and delivery milestones are met. You will develop & demo ANC system prototypes, characterize and communicate performance to the team, perform competitive evaluation and benchmarking.
Most of our engineers have advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field, but if you've followed a different path to expertise in Audio Engineering, we still want to hear from you.5+ years relevant product development experience in ANC technology.Up to 10% domestic or international travel.
Digital signal processing (DSP), including adaptive filtering active noise cancellation and optimization of performance of these algorithms in devicesSpeaker control and protection algorithms, including design, implementation and validation of real-time control systems for enhancing speaker performanceAlgorithm prototyping in simulation software such as MATLAB and real-time hardware platformAcoustic prototyping including experimentation in anechoic chambers and audio/acoustic measurement toolsListening skills for diagnosing problems in product sound quality
