What is a beat maker?

Beat makers are music producers who specialize in creating instrumental tracks, often used in genres like hip-hop, pop, and electronic music. They use digital audio workstations (DAWs), software, and hardware to compose drum patterns, melodies, and harmonies that form the foundation of a song. Beat makers may work independently or collaborate with artists, songwriters, and other producers. Their work is essential in the modern music industry, as they provide the musical backdrop for vocal performances.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a beat maker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Beat Maker, you need a solid understanding of music theory, rhythm, and audio production, often supported by experience or formal training in music or sound engineering. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Ableton Live, FL Studio, or Logic Pro, as well as knowledge of MIDI controllers and sound libraries, is commonly required. Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate with artists or producers are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies are crucial for producing original, high-quality beats that meet industry standards and client expectations.

What are some common challenges beat makers face when collaborating with artists and producers?

Beat Makers frequently collaborate with artists and producers, which can present challenges such as aligning creative visions, adapting to different musical styles, and meeting tight deadlines. It's important to communicate clearly and be open to feedback, as artists may request changes or have specific preferences for their sound. Building strong relationships and maintaining flexibility not only helps overcome these hurdles but also opens doors for future projects and career growth.

Job description

Social Media ManagerAbout Us

Dude Perfect isn't just a YouTube channel, we're a global sports and entertainment powerhouse. We operate at the absolute peak of digital engagement, with follower growth and view counts that consistently outpace the most iconic sports franchises on earth. From legendary trick shots to massive live tours, we're in the business of delivering unforgettable moments to a community of over 100 million followers worldwide. We don't just follow the cultural conversation; we drive it. We're currently building a world class social media team to redefine what an iconic digital presence looks like.

We're looking for the absolute best storytellers in the game: digital natives who are obsessed with creator culture, live for the rush of a viral hook, and have the creative guts to help us build the next era of Dude Perfect across every platform.

If you want to cook the most engaging content with the coolest people for one of the biggest sports and lifestyle brands on the planet... all out of one of the greatest HQs in the world, you're in the right place. LET'S GO!

Position Overview

Dude Perfect is looking for a Social Media Manager to be the strategic quarterback across our always-on evergreen & reactionary content. This isn't a behind the scenes scheduling role, it's a high-impact creative position for someone who lives and breathes the social calendar. You are the architect of our presence across Instagram, TikTok, X, Snapchat, & emerging platforms - ensuring that when the sports world moves, Dude Perfect is leading the pack.

You will own the roadmap for how we show up for the biggest moments in culture, from NFL Kickoff and the NBA Draft to holiday activations and beyond. Beyond the sports/entertainment world, you will be involved in bringing different parts of what we're cooking on the social side across products, live experiences, and new verticals. We need a professional TikTok scroller who knows the trends before they break and can translate them into wins for the DP brand.

Who You Are
  • You don't just follow a calendar; you create it. You see an upcoming holiday or sports milestone and immediately have five viral-ready ideas for how DP can own the moment.
  • You are a student of the algorithm. You understand the pacing, hooks, and nuances that separate a good post from a trend-starting post.
  • You understand that there is a massive divide between just filming an "ad" and engineering content that actually ruptures the social feed. You bring a relentless energy to every project, ensuring everything we create isn't just promoted, but premiered.
  • You spend more time on TikTok and Reels than anyone you know - not just for fun, but to study why things work.
  • You can balance the always-on content engine with high-priority product launches without breaking a sweat.
What You'll Do
  • Drive the development and execution of the always-on social media content calendar for our core social platforms.
  • Design and execute social content strategies for major cultural and sporting events (NFL/NBA seasons, drafts, holidays, etc.).
  • Turn raw ideas into actionable production briefs for our editors and producers, ensuring every piece of evergreen content has a clear goal and a killer hook.
  • Sit at the table with product teams and stakeholders to ensure social is a priority in the development phase of everything we build.
  • Work with analytics to track what's hitting and what isn't, pivoting our content strategy in real-time to keep engagement at its peak.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience cooking on social media for a major sports/entertainment brand, lifestyle brand, or high-growth creator.
  • You aren't just a manager; you're a maker. Whether it's Adobe Suite or jumping into CapCut, you've got the hands-on skills to actually build what you dream up and get it out the door.
  • You have a native, in-depth knowledge of TikTok, Reels, and X. You're the first to spot a trending audio or format and immediately know how to make it work for us.
  • You're a self-starter with a track record of a competitive nature that wants to win on social media vs. checking the box of getting a post up.
  • You've built content calendars that actually work, balancing pure entertainment with product-focused goals without missing a beat.
  • You can pitch a high-level creative approach to internal teams and clearly defend why it's going to win on social.
  • You're used to managing timelines and deliverables in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment where things move fast.
  • You're ready to jump in on weekends or unusual hours for live coverage of big sports and entertainment moments. When the world is watching, we're posting.
Bonus Qualifications
  • A background in creative writing or copywriting.
  • A deep, personal passion for the Dude Perfect brand and our mission.
  • Experience working directly with high-profile talent or professional athletes.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Pro for creating custom thumbnails or visual assets.
  • Practical knowledge of videography and shooting fundamentals (camera operation, lighting, sound) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with collaborative tools like Monday, Frame.io, Slack, or Google Workspace.
Benefits:
  • Health, dental, vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match eligible
  • Paid time off & holidays (+ signature DP winter break in December)
  • Unique access to Dude Perfect productions, events, and experiences
  • The WORLD'S GREATEST HQ (DPHQ3)
    • State of the Art Fitness Facility: On-site comprehensive suite of commercial-grade strength and conditioning equipment, including advanced resistance machines, specialized Olympic lifting stations, and integrated cardiovascular technology.
    • 45-Yard Indoor Football Field: Features a regulation-size NFL goalpost for kicking practice (or field goal challenges).
    • The Dude Perfect Putting Course: A full-size 6 hole custom indoor mini-golf course.
    • Full-Size Sports Courts: A full NBA-sized basketball court and a dedicated pickleball court.
    • Golf & Pro-Simulators: Multiple high-tech golf simulators and F1 level racing simulators.
    • Rock Climbing Wall: A floor to ceiling rock-climbing wall.
    • Comprehensive On-Site Nutrition: A fully stocked industrial kitchen and satellite refreshment hubs providing high-quality snacks and partner-brand beverages campus-wide.
    • Signature Beverage Bar: A professional-grade, self-serve coffee and energy station offering 100+ customizable hot and iced drink combinations.
    • HQ Access: Generous facility hours & flexibility for full-time employees to take advantage of DPHQ3 before/after work hours + over the weekend.

Dude Perfect is an equal-opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or any other protected status.
