Job description

Schedule: Part-time Saturday and Sunday

The Beach Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean aquatic recreational area for residents and their guests.

Duties and Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Ensure that the beach areas are set up to company and property standards, on a daily basis.
  • Be proactive in the ongoing enhancement of the beach
  • Welcome and greet residents and assist them with lounge covers, towels and umbrellas etc.
  • Ensure proper use of amenities such as water, cold towels, ice buckets, sunscreen, etc.
  • Monitor compliance of Association Rules and Regulations
  • Report any malfunction or chairs needing maintenance immediately to Supervisor
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining beach equipment
  • Remove dirty towels and trash
  • Complete daily check list

Work Environment

The position will be outdoors, located in a beach and pool environment with moderate noise level.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. This position will require long periods of standing and walking, as well as working outdoors.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. Days and hours will be determined by the property. The schedule may change to accommodate the business needs of the property.

Required Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in a related position; experience at a luxury property or hotel is strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • The ability to work in a busy, luxury, and fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work well in a collaborative environment with various team members in other departments.
  • Must be able communicate effectively with other team members and residents/guests.
  • Must convey a positive and “can-do” attitude at all times, including during high-stressful times
  • Ability to organize and prioritize and the ability to follow oral and written instructions;
