Beach and Pool Attendant, Full Time
Rate of Pay: $20.91/hour

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Beach and Pool Attendant to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance and safety of Hotel’s pool area while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner by following Marriott standards of hospitality and adhering to guidelines and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
  • Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs.
  • Ensure that pool area is maintained, clean and organized.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly pool deck, including but not limited to: washing and scrubbing pool furniture, hosing down the pool deck, collecting towels, collecting debris and trash on pool deck and beach area as needed, sweeping up debris and trash, blowing off pool deck areas, and other functions that create a well-kept pool deck.
  • Stock pool towels for guests' use by obtaining clean pool towels from laundry, folding, and stacking towels, as well as, returning used towels to the laundry room
  • Provides pool towels to registered guests.
  • Responsible for banding all registered guests at the pool.
  • Monitor pool activity and enforce pool rules. Responsible for identification of any safety and security hazards.
  • Assist guests in the use of cabanas/ daybeds, including set up and break down of cabanas/ daybed and assigning guests to respective cabana/ daybed rentals
  • Ensure cabanas/ daybed are cleaned and reset according to standards.
  • Take, record and confirm cabana/ daybed requests /cancellation as specified in departmental standards.
  • Provide guests with Ali’i Court items and game rules. Distribute and collect completed liability waivers. Monitor that rented equipment is returned. Relay deficiencies to respective team members and follow up.
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheet, bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.
  • Maintain and understand special guest programs and franchise related programs.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

Requirements Knowledge/Education/Experience: One (1) year beach and pool attendant experience preferred. High school or equivalent education.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: English speaking or bilingual. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
