AI at BambooHR
At BambooHR, we're all about setting people free to do great work, and we believe AI is a powerful partner in that mission. We're leaning into intelligent tools to streamline our workflows, giving us more time for high-impact innovation. We look for curious, forward-thinking people who are ready to explore how AI can elevate their work and help us reimagine the future of HR.

Essential Job Duties

As a Manager, BDR at BambooHR, you won't just lead an outbound team—you'll shape how we approach outbound strategy in Canada. You'll lead and develop a team of Outbound Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to maximize top-of-funnel growth while designing and refining the frameworks that drive that success.

This is an exciting opportunity to build BambooHR's first outbound sales team dedicated to Canada. While BambooHR already supports inbound business in the country, this team will establish our Canadian outbound motion. You will play a foundational role in shaping our go-to-market strategy, developing a high-performing team, and creating a repeatable model for sustainable growth in the Canadian market.

This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on building—someone who is not only executing a playbook but also creating one. You'll collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to define how we identify, reach, and engage our ideal Canadian customers in meaningful ways.

You will

  • Own the holistic Canadian outbound strategy—from defining target segments and messaging approaches to setting the long-term vision for how BambooHR drives outbound success in Canada.
  • Lead and scale an outbound BDR team dedicated to Canada to consistently meet or exceed pipeline-generation targets.
  • Design and improve outbound practices, cadences, and workflows to increase conversion rates and overall pipeline quality.
  • Develop prospecting strategies that reflect the distinct business environment, customer needs, and regional dynamics of the Canadian market.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing leaders to shape top-of-funnel programs that drive measurable impact.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones and team coaching sessions to drive accountability, skill development, and career growth.
  • Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Align outbound prospecting efforts with marketing campaigns, messaging, and ideal customer profiles.
  • Leverage CRM and sales engagement tools to analyze performance, optimize workflows, and improve the predictability of results.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to ensure smooth handoffs of qualified opportunities and strong collaboration between teams.
  • Share Canadian market insights and customer feedback to help refine BambooHR's go-to-market approach.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation and iteration, using data and feedback to evolve our approach and scale best practices.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Four to five or more years of sales or business development experience in the SaaS industry.
  • Three to five or more years of outbound BDR or SDR leadership experience, with demonstrated success managing prospecting teams.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A strong understanding of outbound sales strategy, cold outreach, and lead-qualification best practices.
  • Experience using Salesforce or an equivalent CRM and sales engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, or Gong.
  • A proven ability to coach and develop individuals to exceed performance expectations.
  • Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • A data-driven mindset and confidence reporting on and analyzing team metrics.
  • The ability to navigate the cultural, commercial, and regional nuances of building an outbound strategy for Canada.

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You

  • Experience building or overhauling outbound BDR programs from the ground up.
  • Experience leading outbound sales or prospecting efforts in the Canadian market.
  • Familiarity with demand generation and how outbound efforts complement inbound campaigns.
  • Comfort using AI or automation tools to enhance prospecting and productivity.
  • The ability to coach team members on objection handling, messaging, and account research.
  • A passion for professional development and cultivating a high-performance, supportive team culture.
  • A strategic mindset paired with a bias for action—you see the big picture but aren't afraid to get into the details.
  • A results-driven attitude with a strong focus on opportunity generation and pipeline coverage.
  • A competitive spirit balanced by a collaborative mindset and high emotional intelligence.
  • Excitement about building BambooHR's first outbound team dedicated to Canada and helping define its strategy, processes, and culture.

What You'll Love About Us

  • A Great Company Culture that has been recognized by multiple organizations like Inc, and Salt Lake Tribune
  • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance
  • Generous leave policies that include 4 weeks of vacation, 12 company holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off so you can enjoy quality of life
  • 401k plans with up to 6% company match
  • $2,000 Paid-Paid Vacation bonus
  • EAP through Headspace
