Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at a Critical Access Hospital, requiring 1 year each of Med/Surg and ER experience, charge experience, and TNCC certification.

Details
  • Acute care setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
  • Primarily Med/Surg unit with required floating to the Emergency Room
  • Unit includes 6 inpatient beds and 6 universal beds with an average daily census of 5
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
  • Staffing typically consists of 2 RNs and a tech per shift
  • 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0700
  • Every 3rd weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic EMR used; Epic experience within the past 12 months is required
  • Equipment includes Pyxis medication dispensing systems and BD Alaris infusion pumps
Requirements
  • Active NE or compact RN license in good standing
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), and TNCC
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required; ER skills checklist must be completed for consideration
  • Charge nurse experience required
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 12 months required
  • Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program required
  • BSN preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with CAH ER/Med/Surg needs required
Additional Information
  • Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Candidates who have previously worked for Bryan Health must have an end date at least 12 months prior to their submission date
  • Orientation consists of 12 hours of training alongside another RN; length may vary based on traveler comfort level
  • Epic-specific training is required as part of orientation
  • Responsibilities include providing nursing care to patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Charge nurse duties are expected as part of this role
  • Solid-colored scrubs required
  • 13-week contract
