Job Summary
To teach up to 15 credit hours per semester. The teaching assignment location will be the BCTC Georgetown Scott County Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) Campus and/or the BCTC Danville Campus. Instruction responsibilities include all aspects of Computerized Manufacturing and Machining consisting of but not limited to: Safety, cutting tools, attachments and other accessories for machine tools. Determine materials along with machining specifications applicable to the set up and operation of CNC mill's and lathes. Manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, bench work. Wire and Sinker EDM. Blueprint Reading for Machinists, and Metrology.
Job Duties:
1. Plans and carries out instruction and instructional activities and prepares learning materials for special study including training programs to meet the needs of local industry.
2. Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice of the various aspects of Computerized Manufacturing and Machining and related subject areas.
3. Prepares lesson plans and maintains records and reports on students' attainment and progress.
4. Plans, develops and implements Workplace Organization (5s) Standards that insure daily housekeeping and organization in classroom and Laboratory areas
5. Maintains order and discipline.
6. Ensures that appropriate safety policies and procedures are developed and implemented in the industrial maintenance laboratory.
7. Maintains Computerized Manufacturing and Machining equipment and makes purchase recommendations to ensure properly equipped laboratories.
8. Reports inventory and ordering of supplies to Computerized Manufacturing and Machining Technology program coordinator or designee.
9. Participates in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise in the area taught.
10. Implements 5s methodology into student expectations to assure a clean, organized, and safe working/learning environment
11. Provides follow-up services to assist in student placement, improve courses of instruction, and promote public relations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree OR higher
AND
Four (4) years work experience in a CMM field
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Computerized Manufacturing and Machining along with 4 years related work experience.
