Job description

At AZ Blue, we have a hybrid workforce strategy, called Workability, that offers flexibility with how and where employees work. Our positions are classified as hybrid, onsite or remote. While the majority of our employees are hybrid, the following classifications drive our current minimum onsite requirements:

  • Hybrid People Leaders: must reside in AZ, required to be onsite at least twice per week

  • Hybrid Individual Contributors: must reside in AZ, unless otherwise cited within this posting, required to be onsite at least once per week

Purpose of the job

The Consumer Outreach Specialist conducts outreach to both current and potential members, participates in outreach events, assists the Outreach Supervisor in planning outreach activities, supports member retention programs, establishes and maintains community partnerships, and represents Medicaid Business Segment and BCBSAZ programs in the community. Travel is required within the State of Arizona. (Level 1)

The Consumer Outreach Sr, plans, assist in development, and organize community outreach events and activities. The Consumer Outreach Lead conducts outreach to both current and potential members, supports member retention programs, establishes and maintains community partnerships, and represents Medicaid Business Segment and BCBSAZ programs in the community. (Level 2)

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience

  • 1 year of experience in outreach, marketing and/or community relations (Level 1)
  • 5 years of experience in outreach, marketing and/or health plan (Level 2)

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED in general field of study

Required Licenses

  • Valid Arizona Driver License, with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Work Experience

  • 5 years of experience in AHCCCS/Medicaid, CHIP, health promotion, community outreach, social services, marketing or related field (Level 2)

  • Attend sponsored events
  • Schedule meetings with and deliver presentations to community partners to share information and maintain a community presence for Medicaid Business Segment and BCBSAZ programs
  • Build relationships with potential referral sources
  • Directly engage the community on behalf of Medicaid Business Segment and BCBSAZ programs

Level 2 - SR

  • Assist in developing strategies and reports for member retention and new membership
  • Inform management of appropriate strategies to maintain/increase membership
  • Assist in coordinating sponsored events
  • Consults with Medicaid Business Segment and BCBSAZ departments, community service organizations health care providers and other institutions for optimal utilization of health education services and community outreach event and program opportunities.

  • Identify potential outreach opportunities to inform potential members of Medicaid Business Segment and BCBSAZ benefits and covered services for Medicaid and Medicare

  • Submit weekly/monthly summary outreach reports
  • Inform staff about corporate and community relations and marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate specific promotional information related to events, meetings, special projects and activities

  • Maintain professional relationships with community partners and internal business partners
