Job Summary
The College is seeking an Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor of Risk Management and Insurance. Candidates must be able to contribute to the BBA in Risk Management and Insurance program and should have broad competence in Risk Management and Insurance, with the ability to teach a variety of courses. Candidates who bring experience, expertise, and/or specialization in risk management and/or insurance are most preferred. Experience in online teaching is beneficial as the program offers a number of its courses in an online format. However, effective teaching skill must be demonstrated and is expected in both the online and face-to-face classes. Candidates must satisfy scholarly academic faculty qualification status. An Endowed Chair is available for those who meet the requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Mentor undergraduate students.
  • Pursue a program of scholarly research and publication.
  • Advise students and maintain records of student progress.
  • Actively participate in recruitment and retention for the programs.
  • Contribute to the mission of the program and college.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates to be hired at the Instructor level must have an MBA and experience in the industry. Candidates to be hired at the Assistant or Associate level generally must have a doctoral degree (or be ABD) in Risk Management and Insurance or closely related field of specialization, and must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service. ABD candidates must be nearing completion. Expertise should be demonstrated through doctoral transcripts and/or professional experience. ULM is seeking applications from candidates who can demonstrate experience in teaching and working with individuals with diverse backgrounds and contribute to the University's mission, vision, and core values.
