What You'll Do
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will:
- Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary assessments and diagnostic testing
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and pediatric patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
- Administer respiratory therapies, including:
- Medical gas therapy
- Aerosol and humidity therapy
- Airway clearance techniques
- Artificial airway management
- Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
- Vascular catheter insertion, management, and care
- Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS)
- Perform pulmonary function testing, blood gas analysis, sleep studies, and other diagnostic procedures
- Assess patient response to therapy and adjust treatment plans within established protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop individualized care plans
- Participate in disease management for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
- Support hemodynamic monitoring and patient stabilization
- Assist with discharge planning and patient education
- Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events, providing advanced respiratory support
- Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure compliance with quality, safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards
