As a battery engineer, you work in power technology to design batteries of all types—common types include Alkaline and Lithium-ion batteries. Your job is to create an energy cell system using a cathode, anode, and electrode in various designs. Other duties include electrochemical cell fabrication, researching innovative energy materials, and working with lab technicians to complete projects. A battery engineer may also participate in ongoing research projects, helping create the energy sources of tomorrow.
