We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Electrical Engineer at our Oak Creek Natural Gas Plant, Bluff Creek LNG, and Ixonia LNG locations in Wisconsin. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the plants.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Principal Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The Engineer's primary responsibility will be to oversee all control and electrical engineering for WI Peak Shaving. This role supports the safe, reliable, and compliant operation (49 CFR 193) at the We Energies LNG facilities.

The Engineer will manage projects that may be cross-functional in nature and complex. Seeks technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.  Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.

Job Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer is to provide oversight of the electrical, instrumentation, and  process controls of the Wisconsin LNG storage facilities.
  • Ensure consistency in electrical, controls, and instrumentation across WI-LNG sites.
  • Support training operations with testing and maintenance of safety systems, process controls, communications, Low Voltage MCC and Switchgear.
  • Support/train Operations with calibration of transmitters, meters, level sensors etc. required by 49 CFR 193, NFPA 70, and NFPA 59A.
  • Support Operators in troubleshooting operational issues such as communications, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Support capital and maintenance project planning and execution.
  • Apply current methods to monitor and evaluate system performance and equipment condition in order to develop system plans which will minimize life cycle costs, while maintaining reliability, safety, performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Has full technical and financial responsibility for planning, developing, organizing, coordinating, and scheduling a wide variety of engineering projects.
  • Responsible for the preparation of specifications and review of bids in support of engineering projects.
  • Responsible for identifying and executing improvement of existing programs, practices, and procedures through continuous process improvement techniques.
  • Interacts with other business units, vendors, regulatory agencies and authorized inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provides technical expertise, leadership, direction and training in various work groups.
  • Travel to different work locations as needed. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in Industrial, Power Generation, or Oil and Gas

Pay Range Minimum:  $68,436.68 

Pay Range Maximum:  $156,125.32 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
