Experience Requirements
  • 1-2 years of Ultrasonography experience preferred

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Ultrasound program required
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred

Special Skill, License, and Knowledge Requirements
  • ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) certification required
  • Current CPR certification required and maintained in good standing

What You Will Do:
Job Purpose / Mission
Perform ultrasound diagnostic studies in accordance with departmental policies and protocols while delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support efficient operations and positive patient outcomes across all age populations served.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures following established protocols and standards of practice
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients to minimize anxiety and obtain optimal imaging results
  • Verify clinical history and ensure correct procedures are ordered and performed
  • Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment and associated technologies, including PACS
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records and charge capture
  • Apply aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control and safety guidelines
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to adverse patient reactions
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, students, and other care team members
  • Support patient and employee safety initiatives and proactively report errors or safety concerns
  • Assist with departmental quality improvement initiatives and regulatory readiness (Joint Commission, CMS, ACR, etc.)
  • Participate in the education and supervision of ultrasound students as assigned
  • Maintain required licensure, certifications, and mandatory hospital education
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations
