General Summary

The Accounting Manager will lead our accounting and tax functions, driving operational excellence, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring full compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with senior leadership and plays a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Closing Process

โ€ข   Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

โ€ข   Oversee the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules

โ€ข   Review consolidation reports and ensure completeness and consistency

General Accounting & Compliance

โ€ข   Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations

โ€ข   Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies

โ€ข   Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records

Audit & Internal Controls

โ€ข   Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual external audits, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met

โ€ข   Prepare and maintain audit documentation; proactively address and resolve audit findings

โ€ข   Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance

Taxation

โ€ข   Oversee corporate income tax, sales tax, excise tax, and other applicable regulatory filings

Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Requirement

โ€ข   Solid understanding of IFRS

โ€ข   In-depth knowledge of Canadian taxation.

โ€ข   Advanced Excel skills: including financial modeling and use of advanced formulas, charting, and pivot tables.

โ€ข   Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial results to operational drivers.
