Job Summary
The Sport Instructor is responsible for promoting the culture and i9 Sports Experience in the NW Metro Minneapolis area. They should have a good working knowledge of sports, enjoy working with kids, and strive to offer superior customer service. The Sports Specialist will serve as a knowledge resource to the Sport Coordinator and volunteer coaches, ensuring they have everything required to facilitate a great experience for the kids. Flexibility is essential as the role will require wearing multiple hats throughout the season. The responsibilities will vary, so an ideal candidate should be comfortable in adapting to shifting priorities and willing to work in more than one sport. Additionally, the Sports Specialist will need to fill in as a coach or official as required, as well as assist in the set up and tear down of game day operations.  Positions available for soccer, flag football, baseball, basketball, and volleyball.
Responsibilities 
  • Consistently demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Assist volunteer coaches in facilitating practice sessions focused on fundamentals, skill development, and having fun
  • Assume the role of a coach or official as required
  • Assist in game day field set up and tear down
  • Proactively communicate and escalate any potential issues to the Sport Coordinator or Site Manager
Specifics
  • Part time position (on Saturdays or various weeknights)
  • 3-6 hours each shift during the season
  • Ability to work multiple seasons or programs; currently hiring for Spring '26 & Summer '26
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sport-specific coaching experience and knowledge
  • Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently and solve problems
  • Aptitude to fulfill a number of different tasks on game days
  • Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional relationships
  • Ability to work on Saturday 4 -6 hours (for the full duration of the season, ~7 weeks)
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
