NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to the Mortgage Closing Supervisor. The Mortgage Closing Clerk performs various clerical, data entry and member service functions to prepare the final steps of loans that have been underwritten and processed.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience or ability to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job, including data processing systems related to loan products.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
4. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
5. Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Contacts members within 24 hours of loan approval to schedule their loan closing.
2. Completes verbal verification of employment ten days prior to loan closing.
3. Obtains current homeowner's insurance policy prior to loan closing, if needed.
4. Obtains lender's policy, invoices, assessment letters and closing statements on purchases to prepare loan documents.
5. Prepares loan files for closings.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
