About this opportunity:

The Ball State University Baseball program is seeking a dedicated Temporary Volunteer Assistant Baseball Coach to assist with all aspects of the baseball program. This position offers the opportunity to work within a competitive NCAA Division I environment and gain valuable coaching experience.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Description:

This temporary volunteer position provides an opportunity to gain collegiate coaching experience while supporting the development and success of Ball State Baseball student-athletes. The position works closely with the coaching staff in all areas of the program, including player development, practice preparation, recruiting support, and daily team operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide teaching and instruction to student-athletes

  • Support Head Coach with coaching duties as needed during games, practices, and team events.

  • Aid in video review, scouting reports, and opponent preparation.

  • Assist with recruiting efforts as permitted by NCAA rules.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes on and off the field.

  • Assist with monitoring student-athlete academic progress and personal development.

  • Support program operations and administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a baseball player and/or coaching experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Commitment to NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and Ball State University policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Ability to positively represent the Baseball program and Ball State University.

  • Eligible to drive a Ball State University vehicle.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
