THIS IS A LIMITED PART-TIME POSITION The day and hours for this position: varies Bargaining Unit: No Union Representation **Posting may close at any time ** Examples of Work Performed Assist in the coordination of recreation programs including adult and youth sports, special events, and other recreational activities.

Responsible for the preparation, set-up and clean-up of baseball, softball and soccer fields. Perform a variety of general administrative duties including: answer telephones, assist customers, collect fees, and maintain attendance records. Promote the safety of all program participants.

Assist with the set-up and take-down of tables, chairs, and sports equipment for all facility activities and special events. Oversee the regular operations of a community center, fields, and gymnasium facility. Respond to patrons' needs for assistance and information in person and over the phone.

Operate a variety of standard office equipment including personal computer. Officiates or keeps score for sports activities. Perform basic custodial duties.

Sets up and takes down building furnishings and arrangements. Completion of work assignments may require operation of a vehicle. These examples are not intended to be all-inclusive.

Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed. Requirements of Work Ability to lead and work effectively with program participants. Ability to organize and lead recreation activities.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, and/or by whatever creative means are necessary to cross communication barriers. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associates, participants and the public. Ability to maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner.

Ability to use a personal computer and a variety of computer software. Ability to lift and carry equipment, and/or supplies required for the assigned activity up to 25 pounds. Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed.

May require ability to acquire and maintain a Child First Aid and CPR Certification. May require ability to work outdoors in unpleasant weather conditions. May require ability to tolerate airborne nuisances associated with open grounds and windy conditions.

May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License. An employee will not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Experience and Training Required Experience and Training Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship. Preferred Experience and Training Six months of experience coordinating recreational activities. Prior experience in a municipal setting.

Prior experience in general customer service. First Aid and CPR certifications. Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical, which includes drug screening, and upon satisfactory evaluation of a criminal record check.

Starting pay for current City employees will be determined by City of Wichita policy or applicable bargaining unit agreement. Applicants have rights under Federal Employment Laws.
