Faculty Paid Head Baseball Coach - Full-Time
Overview:
This position is for a Faculty Paid Head Baseball Coach at Ocoee Middle School. This Head Coach will oversee all practices for the team, serve as the coach of record during contests, oversee the scheduling of games, plan outreach events, oversee fundraising, manage all aspects of finance concerning the team, and the interaction with parents and the community. Other professional and administrative duties may be required as prescribed.
Qualifications:
Preferred baseball coaching experience including fundraising, facility management, and player development. The individual who fills this position should have a genuine call to working with students and seeing them succeed, as well as a thorough knowledge of the game and how to inspire student athletes to reach their full potential. Applicants who can add to the overall climate and culture of the school are also desired.
Essential Functions
The Head Baseball Coach has the responsibility for the overall operation of the baseball program at Walker Valley High School in accordance with district and TSSAA rules and regulations. The head coach has primary coaching responsibility for the varsity team but will be committed to working with all levels of the program. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program from youth through varsity. The applicant must understand the concept that interscholastic athletics are a desirable part of the total school program and are essential to the social, emotional and intellectual development of the student. The head baseball coach will be expected to exemplify high moral character, behavior and leadership, adhering to strong ethical land integrity standards. The coach will respect each individual, abide by and teach baseball in spirit and letter, set a good example for players and spectators to follow with both words and gestures, refrain from the use of profanity, obscene language or improper actions, teach and display good sportsmanship, treat opponents and officials with dignity and respect, instill good health habits and training rules, and maintain the highest level of responsibility and behavior that is expected of all Bradley County School District employees.
