Job description

General Manager – Select Service Hotel

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000

About the Opportunity

Gecko Hospitality is conducting a search for an experienced General Manager on behalf of a select service hotel property. This is a full-time, salaried leadership role with a well-regarded brand in the extended stay and select service space.

If you've run a hotel, know your numbers, and can lead a team without a lot of corporate hand-holding, keep reading.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Overseeing all aspects of daily hotel operations including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage service where applicable.
  • Driving revenue performance through occupancy management, rate strategy, and expense control.
  • Recruiting, training, and developing property-level staff.
  • Maintaining brand standards and ensuring guest satisfaction scores are consistently strong.
  • Managing the property P&L and reporting directly to ownership or a regional operations team.
  • Building relationships with local accounts and corporate travel contacts to support occupancy goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager at a select service or extended stay brand.
  • Hands-on leader who is comfortable being visible on the floor, not just in the office.
  • Proven track record managing hotel financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and brand reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills with both guests and ownership.
  • Brand certification or the ability to obtain it.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience.
  • Benefits package varies by ownership group; details provided during the interview process.
