Job description

BAS Systems Specialist

VIGO Recruitment is working with a market leader in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to recruit an experienced BAS Systems Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-performance HVAC and control systems, delivering tailored solutions to commercial and industrial clients.

The BAS Systems Specialist will be responsible for application engineering, product selection, and supporting sales teams to deliver effective HVAC and building automation solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing systems that align with project specifications and customer needs while contributing to post-design project management when required.

System Engineering & Application

  • Engineer and design HVAC and BAS systems to match project plans, specifications, and proposal requirements.
  • Select and apply appropriate products to meet technical and performance standards.
  • Ensure system designs are aligned with customer expectations and industry standards.

Sales & Technical Support

  • Assist the sales team in developing tailored solutions to customer challenges related to HVAC and building functions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to support sales proposals and customer meetings.
  • Deliver clear, customer-focused solutions that enhance operational efficiency and system performance.

Project Coordination & Management

  • Support project management activities during the post-design stage if aligned with the candidate's interest.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and provide technical oversight to maintain alignment with project goals.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial HVAC mechanical systems engineering and/or HVAC control systems engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Visio.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC and building automation systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with sales teams and customers.

Preferred:

  • Experience in project management within the HVAC or BAS sector.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
