Job description

We’re hiring a BAS design Specialist II focused on hardware and submittals. This is hands-on BAS design work: turning plans/specs into install-ready packages, validating sequences of operation, and catching issues early. If you live and breathe BAS design, you’ll be right at home. You’ll collaborate with PMs, Sales, and field teams to keep BAS design deliverables accurate, clear, and on schedule.

What You’ll Do
  • Produce BAS design submittals and engineered documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, device schedules, BOMs)

  • Review BAS, mechanical, and electrical plans/specs to determine impact on BAS design

  • Read mechanical/electrical equipment submittals to confirm how BAS systems interface with equipment

  • Review Sequences of Operation (SOO) and validate they meet requirements for BAS design execution

  • Identify discrepancies in plans/specs and write RFIs to clarify scope and resolve conflicts

  • Partner with Sales/PMs to support estimation and project execution where BAS design input is needed

  • Maintain clean documentation and standards to keep BAS design packages consistent and install-ready

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years producing BAS submittals in any BAS platform with strong BAS design ownership

  • Ability to read and interpret plans/specifications for BAS projects, including mechanical and electrical documents

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems relevant to BAS design, including:
    • Unitary equipment: RTUs, FCUs, VAV boxes

    • Larger systems: AHUs, DOAS units, MUA units

    • Hydronic systems (including valve sizing)

    • Chiller plants (air-cooled and water-cooled)

    • Cooling towers

    • Boiler plants (including heat exchangers)

  • Working knowledge of BACnet interface requirements used in BAS design

  • Strong written communication (especially RFIs) and ability to manage multiple deliverables

Preferred (Nice to Have)
  • BAS design experience for data centers, hospitals, and/or lab controls

  • BAS programming experience (a plus, not required)

Physical / Driving Requirements
  • Lift up to 30 lbs; frequent standing/walking; occasional kneeling/stooping/crawling; stair climbing

  • Satisfactory driving record (for company vehicle/allowance eligibility)

Benefits
  • Medical/Dental/Vision

  • FSA

  • 401(k) match

  • Life/AD&D/LTD

  • Paid vacation/sick/holidays

  • EAP

  • Pet insurance
