Whiskey Cake is seeking a Barback!
Barback:
Assist the bar staff in any way possible to ensure great guest experiences and a smooth shift for the entire restaurant.
Responsibilities:
  • Interacting with guests and staff members professionally and positively.
  • Assist the bar staff in filling ice wells, as well as stocking wells with the necessary amount of liquor bottles.
  • Ensuring beer bottles, wine, and cordials are stocked.
  • Refilling and dating mixers, juices, and syrups.
  • Cut fruit and other garnishes, and make sure the bar is set up for success.
  • Empty bus tubs and prebus the bar top.
  • Make batch cocktails according to proper recipes, as well as understand the batch system to ensure proper changing of canisters.
  • Arriving for the shift on time and ready to work in proper uniform.
  • Use juicing machines in a safe, sanitary manner, while ensuring pars for the bar are met.
  • Following directions from management, as well as the bartenders.
  • All barbacks should have extensive knowledge of the menu and should be able to answer any guest's questions about food or drinks.
  • Obtain and update any required certifications.
  • Set up and break down the bar area before and after each shift, while cleaning floors, bar top, and wells.
  • Emptying trash cans and washing dishes using the bar machine.

Qualifications:
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Able to read and follow recipes for juices and batch cocktails.
  • Properly use a knife and other kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain all necessary certifications.
