Assistant Housekeeping Manager
Cheeca Lodge & Spa - Islamorada, Florida Keys
Join our award-winning team at Cheeca Lodge & Spa, a 4-diamond luxury resort in the heart of the Florida Keys. We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the leadership of our housekeeping operations. This individual will play a key role in maintaining the exceptional cleanliness, service, and presentation of our guest rooms and public areas while supporting a high-performing team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Position Overview
Job Title: Assistant Housekeeping Manager
Reports to: Director of Housekeeping
Classification: Full-Time, Hourly / Non-Exempt
Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Daily Operations
  • Assign daily tasks to Room Attendants and Housepersons, ensuring optimal coverage and productivity across all floors and resort areas.
  • Perform room inspections to ensure cleanliness standards, guest readiness, and maintenance needs are consistently met.
  • Coordinate closely with the Front Desk and Engineering teams regarding room status, maintenance requests, and VIP arrivals.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations, including monitoring of storage areas, carts, and equipment.
  • Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping staff, supporting a culture of accountability, positivity, and pride in service.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities; assist in ordering and stocking supplies as needed.

Guest Experience & Quality Assurance
  • Handle guest requests and service recovery professionally and promptly.
  • Support the execution of deep cleaning schedules, room maintenance, and special cleaning projects.
  • Ensure VIP rooms are properly prepared and amenities replenished.

Administrative & Reporting Duties
  • Conduct daily briefings, communicate updates and goals to the team, and participate in monthly departmental meetings.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate logs of room inspections, guest feedback, lost & found, and staff performance.
  • Participate in ongoing departmental improvement efforts, including process enhancement, sustainability, and service innovation.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a housekeeping supervisory management or lead role, preferably in a resort or luxury hotel environment.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations and standards.
  • Proficient in using hotel systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual a plus.
  • Ability to lead by example and support a team-focused culture.
