Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leader in the HVAC industry, hasan opening for an experienced Production Supervisor at our facility inBryan, OH. This is a supervisory position for our 1st shift production.


For over 110 years, Bard Manufacturing Company has been a familyowned and operated company, leading the HVAC industry in the modular,classroom, equipment shelter, and other light commercial markets.With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia, and Mexico, we serviceour customers both nationwide and internationally by designing andmanufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.


Scope and Responsibilities:

The Production Supervisor supervises hourly production employees inthe various departments throughout the manufacturing facility. Thekey objectives of this position are to meet production schedules byachieving high levels of quality, safety, and productivity.


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Supervises and coordinates activities of hourly workers.

  • Observes operations and ensures worker compliance withinprescribed methods and procedures.

  • Administers progressive discipline when necessary. Documentspotential situations/discussions that could lead to disciplinaryaction of workers.

  • Informs HR of any issue which is reported or observed concerningharassment or workplace violence.

  • Manages department to meet customer’s expectations for productquality and delivery.

  • Maintains Inventory Record Accuracy.

  • Completes necessary paperwork in timely manner.

  • Maintains a high and continually improving level of quality.

  • Controls absenteeism and tardiness.

  • Trains and coaches subordinates.

  • Conducts on-the-job training for newly assigned workers, if necessary.

  • Conducts weekly informative meetings and documents minutes.

  • Administers and upholds the integrity of the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Abides by and ensures that all safety standards are met and rulesare followed.

  • Provides a safe working environment for employees.

  • Controls and monitors costs - realizes a continual improvement in productivity.

  • Looks for continual improvement opportunities in all aspects oftheir department.

  • Ensure preventative maintenance programs are followed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Experience and Skills:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills/abilities:



  • High School diploma required, Associates degree in business orrelated field desired.

  • 3-5 years related supervisory experience in a union environment.

  • Familiarity with various functional areas such as fabrication,welding, assembly, shipping, etc.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills

  • Basic Computer Skills - Word, Excel, Epicor

  • Ability to read blueprints.


The candidate must also be familiar with the use of:



  • Jigs

  • Torches

  • Miscellaneous Hand Tools

  • Welding Equipment

  • Computer

  • Calipers/Micrometers
