Job Description

The General Laborer supports daily warehouse and production operations by processing customer orders, picking products with RF barcode scanners, and packing items accurately and efficiently. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively across different tasks such as packaging, loading, and maintaining a clean work area.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders accurately by following established procedures and work instructions.
• Pick products from designated locations using an RF (Radio Frequency) barcode scanner to ensure correct items and quantities are selected.
• Transport picked products to the processing station and complete order processing steps as required.
• Pack products securely and neatly to prepare them for shipment, ensuring packaging meets quality and safety standards.
• Assist with general production activities, including organizing materials and supporting workflow as needed.
• Perform general labor tasks such as loading and unloading items, moving products, and maintaining organized work areas.
• Clean and maintain workstations, aisles, and common areas to support a safe and orderly environment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures while handling products, equipment, and materials.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth and efficient operations.
• Adapt to changing priorities and tasks in a fast-paced warehouse and production setting.

Essential Skills

• Experience processing orders in a warehouse, production, or similar environment.
• Ability to pick orders accurately and efficiently using an RF (Radio Frequency) barcode scanner.
• Proficiency in packing and packaging products to meet quality and shipping standards.
• Capability to perform general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure correct items, quantities, and packaging for each order.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.
• Basic understanding of production and warehouse workflows.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in general labor, warehouse operations, or production environments.
• Familiarity with RF (Radio Frequency) scanning technology and barcode systems.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple tasks including processing, picking, packing, cleaning, and loading.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to meeting daily operational targets.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse and production setting with clearly defined first and second shifts: 1st Shift from 06:00 AM to 02:30 PM and 2nd Shift from 02:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Work is hands-on and active, involving standing for extended periods, moving throughout the facility, and performing tasks such as picking, packing, loading, and cleaning. You will use RF (Radio Frequency) barcode scanners and standard packaging materials and equipment. The environment is fast-paced and focused on safety, organization, and cleanliness, with an expectation of practical, work-appropriate attire suitable for warehouse and production activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Bolingbrook, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.95 - $18.95/hr.
