Product and Expendable Division:

Barbizon Lighting Company, a leader in providing lighting and rigging equipment for the entertainment and architectural industries, seeks a motivated Sales Assistant. The successful candidate will support the Sales department, assisting in preparing quotes and processing orders as needed. The Products and Expendables division specializes in furnishing top-tier equipment, expendables, and accessories to a diverse clientele, including feature films, professional theatres, broadcast facilities, educational institutions, universities, themed environments, and various other venues.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide administrative support for sales teams, including preparing quotes, and responding to or forwarding incoming customer inquiries.
  • Respond to customer inquiries enhancing customer interaction.
  • Provide expert assistance to clients both in our showroom and via telephone.
  • Accurate and efficient entry of quotes and meticulous order processing.
  • Contribute to order fulfillment and proficiently manage customer expectations.
  • Diligently work towards ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Assist in coordinating impactful product demonstrations and related events.
  • Uphold the standards of a clean, welcoming, and professional showroom.
  • Assist in order fulfillment and warehouse duties.
  • Stock checking and inventory management.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Required skills include:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to a fastpaced work environment
  • A film, theatre, or broadcast background would be an asset.
  • Prior sales experience, spanning 3 to 5 years, would be a distinct advantage.

    The salary range for a Sales Assistant at Barbizon Lighting’s Chicago location is currently $50,000 to $55,000 (Non-Exempt) per annum, depending upon experience. Please be aware, extensive industry experience or specific skills that fully match, or exceed what is required, may in fact increase this range. We strongly encourage all to apply.

    In addition to the base pay listed here, Barbizon offers a generous compensation package including medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability, profit share, and a matching 401k Plan at no cost to the employee. The Company fully funds Barbizon’s healthcare benefits for all full-time employees and dependents.
