Job description

QED Hospitality is a restaurant operations management group, focused on running Food & Beverage operations in boutique hotels and exclusive sites nationally. 

We bring our operational acumen to the table, developing and managing restaurants tailored to the hotel, the region and the demands of the market. These are not cookie cutter concepts, but true restaurants born of the region and based on our history.

Your job is to work as part of the bar team in the kitchen is to ensure our bartenders are set up for success before the first guest arrives. From fresh citrus and house-made syrups to batch cocktails and garnish precision — you operate with disciplined attention to detail and pride in craft. This role requires organization, efficiency, and a true understanding that what happens behind the scenes directly impacts the guest experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare fresh garnishes, juices, syrups, and batched cocktail components according to recipe standards
  • Follow precise measurements and recipes to ensure consistency and cost control
  • Maintain strict sanitation and food safety standards
  • Demonstrate awareness of common allergens (citrus, egg whites, nuts, dairy, etc.) and prevent cross-contamination
  • Label and date all prepped items accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized prep and storage area at all times
  • Communicate proactively with bartenders and leadership regarding inventory levels
  • Assist with receiving and stocking beverage deliveries
  • Support bar setup and breakdown when needed
  • Lift and transport up to 50 lbs. (cases, produce, ice, etc.)
  • Operate with urgency while maintaining quality standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous bar, kitchen prep, or food service experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of sanitation and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to follow recipes precisely and consistently
  • Organized, detail-driven mindset
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Able to manage time efficiently during high-volume prep periods
  • Team-first attitude with humility in service
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • You must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Must have one year prior experience in a kitchen.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Mobility and dexterity to move large, heavy objects up to 100 lbs. Manual dexterity to include using kitchen utensils and handling food items. Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing, and be able to withstand a hot and/or close environment. Must be able to work at a fast pace, and to respond to visual and aural cues.
