This role oversees bartenders and bar support staff, manages inventory and ordering, ensures adherence to beverage standards, and drives revenue through efficient service and smart cost controls.

The Bar Manager partners closely with Front of House and culinary leadership to uphold Puttery’s standard of high-energy service, exceptional cocktails, and seamless nightlife-inspired hospitality.

  • Train, coach, and develop bartenders and barbacks to maintain strong service skills, menu knowledge, and proper preparation techniques.
  • Oversee bar scheduling, staffing levels, and shift deployment to meet business needs.
  • Manage inventory, conduct weekly counts, track variances, and place orders to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Uphold cost controls by monitoring pour accuracy, waste reduction, and product utilization.
  • Ensure the bar remains clean, organized, and in full compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary and operations teams on menu updates, featured cocktails, and promotional events.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, resolving issues with composure and sound judgment.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing performance management for bar staff.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures consistently and accurately.
  • Maintain POS accuracy for all bar-related items, modifiers, and inventory controls.
  • Assist with venue activations, special events, and large-party beverage logistics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of bar leadership experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, nightclub, or entertainment venue.
  • Strong mixology knowledge and the ability to train staff on cocktail execution and service standards.
  • Proven experience with inventory systems, ordering, cost control, and waste management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in fast-paced, guest-facing environments.
  • Strong communication, organization, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and familiarity with beverage analytics or reporting tools preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite in a high-volume nightlife, entertainment, or hospitality environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid alcohol service certification as required by local regulations.
Working Conditions
  • Schedule varies based on business needs, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak events.
  • Role requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and operating behind the bar in confined or busy spaces.
  • Physical tasks may include lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying products or equipment up to 50 pounds.
