Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or FNP) | Per-diem - Weekend availability preferred | West Lake Worth, FL 33467

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or FNP) to provide integrated medical and psychiatric care for individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. In this role, you will work closely with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness.

Practice Environment
  • Work alongside an experienced Medical Director and multidisciplinary behavioral health team
  • Provide integrated care for patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in a structured inpatient treatment setting
  • Collaborative environment with nursing, therapy, and clinical support staff focused on patient stabilization and recovery
Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Patient Care

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, physical exams, and psychiatric evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions, including substance use and co-occurring disorders.
  • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
  • Prescribe and manage medications and other therapeutic interventions in accordance with approved protocols.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment strategies as appropriate.

Medical Collaboration

  • Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to support coordinated patient care.
  • Communicate patient status, treatment updates, and clinical recommendations to the Medical Director.
  • Participate in case reviews and treatment planning discussions.
  • Order diagnostic tests, review lab results, and coordinate referrals to medical specialists when needed.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support infection control practices and patient safety protocols.
  • Provide clinical information to Utilization Review teams to assist with determining appropriate levels of care.
Qualifications
  • Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (ARNP) license in Florida
  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in addiction treatment or inpatient psychiatric care.
  • Experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team
