Overview

As a Banquet Captain at Town and Country Resort, you'll be the hands-on leader orchestrating unforgettable events-from elegant weddings to corporate conventions. Supervising a team of around 110 banquet staff, you'll ensure flawless setup, seamless service, and smooth execution across all banquet venues. Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate banquet staff during setup, service, and breakdown phases of events.

  • Ensure all banquet spaces are arranged precisely to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and layout standards.

  • Lead pre-event briefings, assign staff duties, and manage staffing levels to meet event needs.

  • Monitor guest experience on the floor, promptly addressing questions, requests, or adjustments.

  • Serve as the primary contact with event planners and clients before and during functions to ensure satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with kitchen, stewards, catering, and other departments to maintain service excellence.

  • Uphold safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations throughout all operations.

  • Manage inventory of banquet equipment, supplies, and linens; report discrepancies promptly.

  • Mentor and train banquet staff on service standards, problem resolution, and best practices.

  • Assist in other duties as assigned to keep everything running efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in banquet or event service leadership at a resort or large venue.

  • Strong supervisory and team-motivation skills in high-volume environments.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and guest service abilities.

  • Ability to stay calm, decisive, and solution-oriented under pressure.

  • Flexible schedule is a must-events often include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout shifts.

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs across event spaces.

  • Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs, e.g., trays, linens, equipment.

  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments-conference centers, ballroom floors, banquet halls, and outdoor spaces.
