Job description

Position Title: Banquet Event Server
Position Reports to: Clubhouse Manager and Director of Clubhouse Operations
Employee Categories: Part Time or Full Time Year Round
FLSA Category: Non Exempt; Hourly Position
Compensation: $20-21/hour

The Banquet Event Server will provide exceptional service in all event spaces to members and their respective guests. Complete the preparation, execution, and closeout of scheduled events in an array of the Club's event areas. Enhance event experiences by following proper service procedures and by anticipating member and guest needs. The Club strives to preserve a strong collaborative team environment with self-motivated individuals. Characteristics of a successful banquet event server include willingness and ability to interact and communicate courteously and politely with members and fellow team members as well as show initiative and pride in the service you are providing while upholding a positive and professional demeanor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be a productive member of the team by showing up on time, properly groomed and dressed, in a positive frame of mind
  • Assisting in the preparation, execution, and close out of the scheduled event
  • Serving and clearing food and beverage
  • Proper and courteous communication with members and guests
  • Proper positioning of china, silver and glassware – setting a table
  • Gathering and setting daily events: placing tables and chairs, setting to specifications provided by manager
  • Close-out responsibilities—cleaning and re-stocking event areas for use the next day
  • Attend training classes as announced (i.e. wine training, banquet training)
  • Assisting with the setup and breakdown of other events taking place across campus
  • Additional duties/ projects as assigned by management

Required Skills:

  • Food and beverage knowledge preferred
  • Exposure to a private club environment preferred

Specialized Knowledge/Licenses Required:

  • Massachusetts TIPS Certification

Uniform Requirements:

  • White, clean, pressed shirt (provided by TCC)
  • Pressed black slacks and socks
  • Black, plain, clean/polished, comfortable work shoes

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able bend and reach for items off shelves, carry trays, lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours
  • Use touch screen for POS system
  • Basic reading and writing skills and ability to speak English conversationally
