Full Time - Banner System Administrator
The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Banner System Administrator at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
The Banner System Administrator maintains the administrative software systems, databases, and servers for the college.
Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for keeping administrative software updated when vendor releases become available.
Responsible for the support of servers where administrative software is located.
Responsible for maintaining integrations to the administrative software.
Assists in database administration and Linux system upgrades.
Performs other duties or projects as assigned by Director.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
Associate's Degree
Two years at a higher education institution in technical support of Ellucian Banner software. Time spent as a Student Worker does not count toward the minimum years.
Experience using and upgrading Windows servers with Apache Tomcat, Java, security certificates, and Jenkins Agents.
Experience using and supporting Oracle database environments.
Experience using and supporting Linux environments.
Minimum Competencies
Proficiency in using vi and cron.
Demonstrated experience in reading and writing SQL queries.
Proficiency in writing shell scripts.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to trouble-shoot and problem-solve.
Ability to multi-task and to prioritize work assignments.
Ability to secure and protect college data and property by prudent and reasonable business practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher
Three or more years at a higher education institution in technical support of Ellucian Banner software. Time spent as a Student Worker does not count toward the minimum years.
Experience using the Ellucian Customer Center.
Experience using Ellucian Solutions Manager (ESM).
Experience installing and configuring Ellucian Banner software.
Experience supporting the integration and maintenance of third party applications that integrate with Ellucian Banner.

Knowledge in and experience using these Ellucian modules: Degreeworks, Banner Document Management, Banner Communication Management, Banner Extensibility.
Knowledge in and experience using Automic/UC4.

Special Notes To Applicants
This is not a remote work position. This position requires candidate to work on the Brenham, TX or Bryan, TX campus of Blinn College, 40 hours per week.
This is a 12 month, benefits-eligibleposition. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees,50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurancebenefits.
