Job description

PALLIATIVE CARE Nurse Practitioner
Banner Desert Medical Center
Banner Health is seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner to assist our Palliative Medicine team. Our NP will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including two lead physician, a nurse practitioner, and two social worker, managing patients. Qualified candidate must be detail-oriented, a good communicator, and dedicated to providing excellent care in challenging situations.
Our Nurse Practitioner will be passionate about this type of specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses. Our Provider will be involved in clinical management of patients, leading serious discussions with patients and their families about their pain management, complex symptom control, and providing consultations regarding goals of care and advance care planning. It is the expectation that they will seek additional education in this field and obtain their ACHPN certification within 2 years of employment.
Work Schedule: Full-time | NO Weekends | NO Call
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience preferred as an NP, FNP, ACNP or AGNP
  • Inpatient Palliative Care experience preferred; will consider New Grads
  • Current CPR and BLS
  • Current prescribing privileges, including a DEA license for controlled substance.
