Job description

National Bankruptcy Services (NBS) has been delivering innovative, compliant bankruptcy servicing solutions since 1999. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, we partner with some of the nation's largest and most respected lenders and servicers to provide best-in-class bankruptcy support.

We're looking for a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist I to join our growing Payment Change Monitoring team. If you have experience in consumer bankruptcy, lending, or loan servicing and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail matters, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist, you'll play a critical role in monitoring bankruptcy accounts and ensuring compliance with client requirements and bankruptcy regulations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor bankruptcy cases through electronic court systems and review court dockets
  • Identify when legal action is required and coordinate with local counsel
  • Track payment delinquencies and account activity
  • Review bankruptcy plans and determine treatment requirements
  • Monitor NDC and Trustee websites for claim status updates
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, attorneys, vendors, debtors, and internal teams
  • Analyze and process incoming mail and court notifications
  • Maintain accurate file documentation and ensure timely file closure
  • Support additional operational and compliance-related tasks as needed

Qualifications We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of verifiable work experience, or Bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of experience in Consumer Bankruptcy, Consumer Lending, Mortgage Servicing, Collections, or a related financial services field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume production environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
