What You'll Be Doing:

Seeking Petroleum Engineering Investment Banking Associate role to support the Houston EIT (Energy, Infrastructure, and Transition) team. As an Associate, you will play a critical role in the engineering-specific aspects of the asset assessment and valuation workflow - PDP forecasting, type curve generation, LOS analysis, and future inventory identification and development. You will work on generating client presentation materials, populating VDRs, and partnering closely with senior bankers, clients, and counterparties.

  • Lead technical analysis and valuation of oil and gas assets.
  • Prepare client presentations and serve as a main contact for senior bankers and clients.
  • Conduct company, industry, basin, and asset research to provide strategic recommendations.

How You'll Succeed:

  • Perform technical evaluations - develop and validate production forecasts and type curves for oil and gas assets across North America.
  • Apply reservoir engineering and data science to identify key performance drivers.
  • Assess and categorize undeveloped inventory and related risks.
  • Build and QC discounted cash flow (DCF) valuation models using ARIES and ComboCurve.
  • Develop and maintain technical databases (ARIES, ComboCurve, Spotfire, etc.) for valuation and marketing analyses.
  • Leverage Enverus PRISM/DI and IHS DirectConnect/Impact public oil & gas database subscriptions to perform independent scoping and understanding of client leasehold positions.
  • Lead technical and operational due diligence workstreams, including diligence calls, deal materials creation, model audit, and process management from start to finish.
  • Partner with senior bankers to support transaction execution, client deliverables, buyer interaction, and process integrity.
  • Market assets to potential buyers by presenting analysis to large groups and following up on buyers' questions and answers.
  • Play a critical role in A&D, M&A, marketing, and pitch processes alongside senior bankers.

Who You Are:

  • 2-6+ years of experience in a related reservoir engineering role.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering required; experience in the oil & gas industry at an operator and/or in investment banking (A&D advisory).Effective team player able to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong data analytics and problem-solving capabilities; Skilled at analyzing complex technical and financial data.
  • Fundamental knowledge of cash flow, economics, and rate of return.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess technical risk in economic valuations.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and client-facing abilities.
  • Advanced skills in ARIES, Spotfire, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with coding (TERR / Python) and workflow automation
  • Deep understanding of public oil & gas datasets (Enverus, IHS, state websites).
