Job description

Job Title:    Operations Associate                             

Reports to: Operations Manager/Operations Director                                                                                

Division:     Retail                         

Overview:

The Operations Associate   is responsible for supporting management to ensure the back office operates at peak efficiency in supporting store operations.  This includes promptly processing all payments, receiving and shipping merchandise into and out of the store, as well as daily sales reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Process all sales transactions in accordance with corporate procedures. This includes cash, credit and checks.
  • Process all lay-aways and maintain associated merchandise in a secure manner.
  • Process credit applications through merchant web site.
  • Receive all merchandise into the store, update inventory system and verify that all sku numbers are accurate. Resolve discrepancies as required.
  • Distribute merchandise to appropriate areas within the store.
  • Ship merchandise from store in accordance with established procedures. This includes corporate and customer shipments as well as transfers between stores.
  • Create Daily Business Report (DBR) to report daily sales and associated financials.
  • Create trade-in report detailing daily trade-in activities.
  • Prepare cash deposit for bank and ensure the funds are deposited the following business day.
  • Maintain cash drawer.
  • Maintain information on all serialized warranties.
  • Responsible for remaining current on all corporate procedures relating to the back office. Educate store personnel on new procedures as needed.
  • Print out case report from inventory system for Sales Professionals to use in inventory count.
  • Answer all incoming calls to the store and transfer as appropriate or take messages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have a polished and professional appearance with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule throughout the week.
  • A team player.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate must have at least 1 year of work in retail operations, inventory or cash offfices.
  • Experience in accounting, finance a plus.
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and detail oriented.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
