Hello, I'm Bianka, Senior Team Leader at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in accounting, finance, and payroll positions. I handle both temporary and permanent recruitment in the Greater Montreal area. Mission Responsibilities - Cash Receipts and Payment Application - Process daily cash receipts, including checks, wire transfers, bank payments, ACH, EFT, and other payment methods. - Perform cash application activities by accurately applying customer payments to outstanding invoices. - Reconcile received payments, customer remittances, and open invoices. - Identify and analyze payment discrepancies, including short payments, deductions, and partial payments. Accounts Receivable and Reconciliations - Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer accounts in the accounting system. - Perform reconciliations between bank deposits and recorded cash receipts. - Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable and Credit teams to resolve payment discrepancies and account issues. - Support month-end activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and journal adjustments. Controls and Compliance - Adhere to established internal controls and financial procedures. - Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping of all transactions. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of cash receipt and cash application processes. Internal Service and Communication - Respond to internal inquiries regarding cash receipts and customer account status. - Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Credit teams. - Communicate with customers, as needed, to obtain payment details and resolve payment-related issues. Your profile Desired Profile - 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance role. - Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial transactions. - High level of attention to detail, with a proven ability to ensure accuracy and precision in financial data entry and reconciliations. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial records. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. - Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken. - Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to cash application and payment allocation. - Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively balance workload demands. - Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
