Recovery Operations Admin (Impounds & Repossession)
Los Angeles, CA | In-Person

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary objective of this position is to ensure the timely and effective placement of impound repossession assignments. This requires a detailed review of assignment details to ensure all State and Federal requirements are met. This position will serve as a point of contact in maintaining vendor relationships, including assignment follow up, fee authorizations, and invoice approvals. reviewing incoming notices, contacting holding facility for impound details, and referring the account for appropriate follow up. The primary objective of this position is the timely review of all impound accounts and proper queuing for account or vehicle follow up.

This position will work closely with external repo vendors, as well as internal departments as both a service-provider and service-recipient. The successful candidate should be self-directed in work prioritization, be able to work seamlessly between and among several databases and should be able to demonstrate good decision-making ability within the scope of the position’s areas of responsibility. The Coordinator will perform all duties in accordance with Westlake policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review impound accounts for pick up / opposition
  • Recovery of seized vehicle, following State and Federal Guidelines
  • Authorize / track lien opposition for resolution
  • Prevent lapses and clear up inconsistencies in agent updates
  • Maintain effective communication with repossession agents, collection and other internal departments.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & LICENSES:

  • Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate PC skills; ability to work with multiple platforms.
  • Good interpersonal skills and teamwork awareness.
  • Familiarity with vehicle values, reconditioning cost / benefits, and wholesale remarketing channels desirable.
  • Ability to understand and interpret state-specific laws on third-party liens for storage and repairs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous work experience in consumer credit or banking, preferably in automotive finance, impounds or repossessions is helpful.

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Daybreak or other retail consumer servicing systems
  • Web navigation and/or web-based applications
  • Personal computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • 10- key calculator and QWERTY keyboard skills.
  • Copier, Faxing & other general office supplies.
  • Licensed Notary preferred

PAY RATE: 

  • $18.47/hour + potential performance-based monthly bonus and additional department incentives.

  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
