Description

SBMF (our community blood center), is responsible for providing blood products in the local area. To do that however, we need people to process the blood products to provide safe blood for hospitals and surgery centers to take care of the patients that are in need.

We are offering a nice behind the scenes position for someone who has a desire to work in the medical field and knows the importance of blood and treating the ill or injured. This position will be fully on-the-job trained, is day shift and comes with a great benefits package.

Responsibilities include shipping, receiving and coordinating the inventory of blood products. Prepares blood components with related quality control and record keeping. Labels and verifies the labeling of processed blood and components.

  • Prepares blood products for shipment to clients.
  • Orders and receives blood products from outside sources.
  • Prepares blood components according to FDA and AABB guidelines.
  • Performs required quality assurance, implements corrective action when applicable and documents all results.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of all blood components.
  • Labels blood and blood products according to standard operating
  • procedure.
  • Verifies and checks the accuracy of the labeling of processed blood and components
  • Hours for this full-time position are primarily 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday with Saturday and holiday (on-call) rotation.

Requirements include a HS diploma or equivalent. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently. Previous experience in the medical field helpful. This position is responsible for shipping, receiving and coordinating the inventory of blood products. Will prepare blood components with related quality control and record keeping. Labels and verifies the labeling of processed blood and components.
