Position summary:

  • On a daily basis, enthusiastically provides exceptional client service, with a full working knowledge of retail banking functions and services, while striving to reach individual and branch goals. Manages branch personnel to deliver exceptional client service and achieve sales goals. Manages branch banking operations within bank policy guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers excellence in customer service, education, guidance and respect to all Solvay Bank customers and co-workers in accordance with the Solvay Bank Client Service Standards.
  • Thoroughly understands, embraces and exhibits Solvay Bank Values and serves as an example to others in actions and words.
  • Supervises all branch client service, sales related and operations activity, including the use of any Client Contact software.
  • Develops a solid base of business by establishing and maintaining sound relationships with existing customers.
  • Maintains an ongoing aggressive, program of business development to meet objectives

  • Contacts customers and business, community, and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business. Maintains an active role in one or more civic organizations within the branch market area.
  • Effectively manages branch loan, deposit origination and referral functions, meeting or exceeding goals and ensuring maintenance and compliance with the Bank’s established policies and procedures.
  • Manages the referrals to other lines of business such as Trust & Investment Department, Solvay Bank Insurance Agency & Commercial lending area
  • Responsible to regularly track achievement of all assigned goals and coach individuals to goal achievement
  • Responsible for the selection of branch personnel and conducts employee performance evaluations including salary adjustment recommendations.
  • Develops and motivates staff to meet required performance levels. Performs monthly coaching sessions using Bank prescribed software and programs to counsel and guide staff members in the performance of their job duties and achievement of sales goals.
  • Is a “Change Agent” for the evolution of our business; very supportive of changes that develop in product technology, becoming an active user of all technology and developing the team they manage to the same end
  • Prepares various operating reports, including but not limited to, budgets, business development and supervises the completion of all branch operations related reports.
  • Attends and participates in meetings, effectively relaying information to branch staff and ensuring topics covered are understood and any updates implemented.
  • Serves on various Bank committees as needed.
  • Performs other tasks requested by manager as they relate to the Bank and its functions.
  • Adheres to established policies, procedures and federal regulations.
  • Adheres to Information Security policies and related regulatory policies, procedures and standards designed to protect customer and Bank-owned information.
  • Ensures that Bank policies, procedures and standards, including Information Security, are adhered to.


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of banking products, policies and regulations
  • Strong sales skills and demonstrated ability to effectively develop business.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage staff development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Word & Excel


Education and/or Experience:

  • 4 year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 year retail banking experience.
  • 3 years active Business Development experience
  • Finance background preferred
