Job description

Overview

The purpose of this job is to provide technical expertise needed to service Private Banking clients, specifically loan and deposit products and other banking services and will work with other business units on investments, fiduciary, and insurance services. These responsibilities include the monitoring of all aspects of moving loan applications through underwriting, document preparation, loan closing, and exception management.  It also includes the establishment and maintenance of deposit vehicles and the assistance with ongoing portfolio management or total bank solutions that may require a liaison between a multitude of departments throughout multiple geographic locations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients, internally and externally. Assisting customers with all banking functions as needed, including but not limited to transferring funds, wires, balance inquiries, and immediate problem resolutions, particularly those that require a liaison to coordinate activity between multiple Business units, Wealth Management, and geographic locations that may be needed to create a total bank solution.  Use experience-based expertise to provide customers and PB team companywide with answers to questions regarding policies, procedures, processes, and systems relating to new account establishment, loan administration, training requirements, platform systems (LoanFlow/Atlas/M&I/LaserPro/nCino), compliance requirements and general questions concerning other areas of the bank that interface with Private Banking.
  • Gather information and prepare loan application, disburse loan advances, accurately quote payoffs, order credit reports, pull financial statements, collect and review documentation for accuracy and compliance prior to submission for processing, work closely with Private Bankers in obtaining and approving collateral releases, complete file release Universal Commercial Code (UCCs), complete application for Letters of Credit, and retrieve and utilize information on sweep accounts. Assist Private Banking Officers with portfolio management as needed including but not limited to resolving and monitoring loan, covenants, and credit exceptions, preparing financial analysis forms as needed and other supporting documentation required for loan compliance.
  • Provide administrative support for the department. Duties include, but not limited to answering phone and referring call to appropriate staff, coordinating officer calendars and scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, memos, reports, ordering supplies and maintenance requests, opening and distributing mail, and preparing expense reports. Adhere to the Sundown rule.
  • Assist and support high net worth clients with the establishment and maintenance of a variety of depository accounts. Monitor all related activities needed to handle clients' depository needs while adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Make referrals to create cross-sell opportunities for all bank products and special services (i.e. not limited to Private Banking services) that would meet the unique needs of high-net-worth clients that this position serves.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • 10 years previous banking experience directly related to Private Banking or assisting Sr. level lenders as well as providing direct customer service to high-net-worth clients
  • Mastery of widely used bank systems for deposits and lending (M&I, nCino, LaserPro, loanFlow, Atlas)
  • Activity involved in preparation and completion of loan applications and documents and of loan portfolio maintenance
  • Expertise opening and maintaining complex deposit products (such as CDs embedded in Trust Accounts or part of Financial Planning vehicles)
  • Advanced knowledge of bank workflows and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of bank regulatory and compliance requirements impacting loans and deposit processing
  • Expert knowledge of Private Banking and Wealth Management organizational structure along with understanding of other departments who serve high-income and high-net worth clientele
  • Ability to process and monitor loan applications to perfection
  • Ability to process and monitor depository accounts
